In view of the expanding city and current nature of transportation characteristics in the context of Jaipur, it is pertinent to view the urban transport challenge in an integrated manner that will facilitate in the development of an Integrated Transport Solution for the urban area of Jaipur. This necessitates involvement of all stakeholders like the City Corporation, JDA, Traffic Police and other relevant departments.

A number of Traffic and Transportation studies have been done for Jaipur City over the last 20 years. It is evident from the findings of these studies that the MRTS project is capital intensive and requires elaborate structure to develop the project on a commercial format. However, there is a scope for leveraging private sector skills in the project so as to structure innovative means of financing and thus implement the project within the targeted time frame.

The project entails creation of an efficient transportation system comprising a mix of Bus Rapid Transit/Monorail/LRT for the urban area of Jaipur. The scope of work, therefore, covers amongst others, the following: -

• Review of existing technical and financial information, and past studies done on MRTS for Jaipur.
• Decide on the optimum system/routes for the project considering the current scenario as well as the future development.
• Decide on the optimum phasing of the project.
• Prepare a Feasibility Stage Investment Banking Report complete with all financial aspects, like financial modelling, willingness to pay, revenue projections etc.
• Prepare possible project implementation structures.
